Inspiration...

After years of collecting playing cards, I was inspired earlier this year to create a deck of my own. I wanted something that would be classy, elegant and timeless.  While paging through Taschen's Magic book, I stopped on page 358 when I was reminded of the famous Harry Kellar portrait that featured his two iconic Imps, whispering secrets into his ear.  After realizing nobody had created a deck of cards that featured these mischievous creatures I began to sketch out ideas onto a pad of paper.

The next day I called up my friend Mark Stutzman, an illustrator out of Maryland, and shared with him the crazy idea of creating a brand new deck of playing cards based on Harry Kellar's "Whispering Imps." Mark, already familiar with creating playing cards AND illustrating the mythological Imps into many of his illustrations, agreed it would make for a very beautiful deck.
